MyGoldEnvelope

Wow, Angel requested an envelope then sent in some broken gold necklaces and some gold jewelry from a previous relationship to www.mygoldenvelope.com, and just got a check back for about 5 times what she had anticipated!

Way to go Angel…that will buy a whole BUNCH of treats for me!

It did take a loooong time to get the check after submitting the gold – about five weeks.  She thought that it had gotten lost and she’d never see the funds.

There was a pretty bracelet that I would have liked for  my bling collection.

…but who am I kidding – I hate to have a collar around my neck and really don’t like those barretts in my fur – makes me look like a sissy, you know?

Do you have to wear jewelry?  Or do you fight till blood to get your way?

Dirty cat

Ok, I learned something new yesterday…

When you’re a white cat, you don’t want to jump in the ash pan when the peeps are cleaning out the pellet stove.

I haven’t been able to get all the soot off my paws, tail or face.  So from now on, no more forays into the ash pan.

Angel threatens to give me a bath (she knows I hate those with all my heart), so I’m trying to clean it off myself (she just wiped me down with a wet washcloth only – no soap yet).

And they say you can’t teach an old cat a new trick!

Cats Rule with dirty feet.

More snow!

Yuck – I’m getting tired of snow.

I can’t go outside without getting my pads wet and my paws dirty.

I’m ready for spring when I can go for walks and NOT get dirty.  I want to be able to chase bugs and chew grass.

Plus, it’s COLD – my pads aren’t happy with the cold.

I’d rather curl up in front of the fire!

Meow!

snow and ice – ugh

Yesterday it rained all day – and the plows went through to splash up the icy, watery goo at the end of the driveway.  Then it froze last night.  (In fact, this morning, I was only willing to step my two front paws onto the front steps – icky!  I immediately pulled my dainty little paws back and went to lay down by the fire.)

Since it didn’t dawn on Hulk to clear it out – they have a bumpity ride getting out of the end of the driveway with all the frozen slush  (heehee – it’s funny  when he realizes he has a lot of work cut out for him to clear it out).

He now has to buy a certain ice hacker to clear the ice out.  Angel told him to get one when he was looking at them at the “man store” a month ago.

But, if you knew Hulk, you’d know he likes to wait until the last minute for everything!  So now he has to drive over 70 miles to even get to the “man store” – this drives Angel crazy – as she’s more than willing to tell everyone.

I think it’s funny – when he does stuff  like this, “I” just end up looking better and better!

Thankful…

As I was looking out over the neighborhood at 2:00 a.m. this dark and cold morning, I noticed the beautiful blinking lights of all colors and sizes.

Some of the neighbors have their entire house lit up, like in  “Deck The Halls”, others have only the lights from the Xmas tree shining.

These lights and all the shadows they create make me want to stalk prey that I can see moving, just ever so slightly.

Some neighbors are tucked into a nice warm bed, with no visible Xmas lights aglow.

Whatever the case, I want to take these moments to reflect on how lucky I am…

  • Lucky to have good eyesight – so I can see these wonderful Xmas sights (even if I can’t hear the carols)
  • Lucky to have a warm bed in front of a nice cozy fire – so I don’t freeze my ears and tail off
  • Lucky to have food served to me several times a day – food I don’t have to catch (I eat whether I’m a better hunter than my prey or not!)
  • Lucky to have a solid, cozy house to live in - so I don’t have to sleep in the snow, wind and rain
  • Lucky to have people who love me – so I’m not so alone in this world
  • Lucky to be alive – if Angel and Hulk hadn’t rescued me, I wouldn’t be here today
  • Lucky that I live in a country where people don’t find cat a delicacy – so I’m not eaten for a tasty snack

I thank the great essence of life every day for my good fortune…

I hope you do too!
