Animal Rescue Site

The Animal Rescue Site is still having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily so they can meet their quota of  getting FREE FOOD donated every day to abused and neglected animals.

It takes about 15 seconds to go to their site and click on the purple box ‘fund food for animals for free’.

This doesn’t cost you a thing.

In fact, I’ve added this to my sidebar (at the bottom) – so every day you read this you can click on their site and then click on the purple box – this helps get food and supplies donated to the animal rescue site.

Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.  Click here to Help Animal Rescue!

Hi Everyone,

I haven’t had a chance to write to you all for a while.  I guess there wasn’t much on my mind! (haha)

I wanted to let you all know that Angel (my person) is trying to help stop animal cruelty, in conjunction with The Humane Society.

She loves animals and wants every one to live a long, happy and healthy life.

Please help by contributing to the “Stop the Cruelty” Campaign – you can visit her volunteer web page and make a donation there

Go to: www.stopthecruelty.org        and enter her volunteer ID# 20880249

Even a dollar would help these poor animals.

I can’t believe how lucky I am to have found a warm, loving and doting home.  They pretty much treat me like a princess (of course, they should – I am, after all, ME) and make sure I’m well-fed and healthy, get enough exercise to keep my muscles sleek and my coat silky, and love me to pieces (sometimes MORE than I am willing to accept).

Cassey - my new "cousin"

Cassey - my new "cousin"

I want to introduce you to another lucky gal – my new “cousin” Cassey.  She is the newest member of another loving home who adore animals.

Isn’t she cute?  (…for a d-o-g)

Her people are Angel’s niece and her family.  They just lost a dear friend, Tootsie.  While Cassey isn’t Tootsie and can never replace Tootsie’s memory, Cassey will make her own happy memories and be forever embedded in her people’s hearts.

Good luck to you, Cassey!

The Passing of a Good Friend

It is with great sadness that I report a good friend passed away recently.

Heathcliff, a gentle, sweet and loving red Persian had been adopted five years ago by Angel’s friends (who also do Persian cat rescue).

Heathcliff finally went to the great kitty playground in the sky.

Heathcliff had been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy at his adoption.  His veterinarian had given him six months to live – five years ago.

This just shows what a loving and nurturing home can do for a special needs cat.  He had devoted people who religiously give him heart medication twice a day.  They even hired a babysitter when they were gone for a day or more – because Heathcliff needed his medication at regular intervals, and they wanted him to have some company as well.

It’s true that Heathcliff needed a lot of attention and care, but he gave back tenfold the love and affection to his people – they will miss him sorely.

Goodbye Heathcliff – may you forever chase butterflies and chew sweet catnip; may you forever more be free from pain and the restrictions of a faulty heart.

We’ll miss you!

Shelters – can use your help

Last time Angel talked about finding your next companion  and what a great resource your local animal shelter can be.

If you already have a great pet, but would like to help other animals who aren’t as lucky, animal shelters can always use food, towels (both cloth and paper), laundry detergent, toys, food, litter, soft blankets, food, leashes and collars.

And, did I mention…food?

There are always far more pets than people to adopt them.  Even though shelters do their best, the fact remains that with so many animals, supplies run out long before need does.

Donating these items to your local shelter can help many cats and dogs realize a better chance to find a loving home.

Donating your time or services (cleaning cages, walking dogs, writing advertising, typing, filing, phone coverage, etc.) will help immensely as well.  The Humane Society of the United States has great tips on how to volunteer or otherwise get involved.

Cats Rule!
