In my world, the 4th of July coincides with the annual local rodeo – so at 10:30 we had a terrific rodeo/4th parade

Independence Day!

Independence Day!

The parade goes right past my house, so I sat outside on a leash while Angel and Hulk had family over and we all got to watch the parade with floats and horses and rodeo princesses and stuff.

There was even a HUGE long-horn bull (he was scarey) that some girl was riding.  No way was I coming anywhere near those horns!

People were tossing candy and giving out frosty-pops.  Carts with toys, flags and soda for sale were making the run before the parade.

Most importantly, while the horses and riders and cool rodeo stuff was fun, we should never forget that the 4th of July celebrates the day that our great country became free and a nation in our own right.

We do have a lot of privileges in this country, and we should never take our freedoms for granted.

Bless the military people who have sacrificed for us, both past and present, so that we may continue to enjoy the freedoms we have!  We love you all!
